The first thing to note is- the resolution of the thermal sensor is different than that of the thermal scope. Quite simply, the better the thermal resolution, the better will be the image quality. A higher resolution also allows you to zoom in on the target, without losing image quality.
Entry level sensors come with a resolution of 384×288. The more expensive sensors have a resolution of 640×480 or 640×512 and offer more image clarity and definition.
